Adventure Bike Shop (aka Two Wheel Trekkers) Open Day
on Sunday 11th March 2012
Report by Tim Robinson & Cliff Batley
Tim:
A really good day at Cliff and Jennys today. The fine weather
really brought the bikes out. Dorothy counted more than 60 bikes
visiting throughout the 3 hours that we were there! Needless to say,
a lot of them weren't from the club. A lot were passing bikers who
stopped at the nearby cafe and then noticed all of us and came
to take a look. All the same Cliff and Jenny welcomed them in with
sausages, bacon and tea & coffee.
Cliff: We invited the BMW club along to our new business yesterday (11th March) we offered free tea, coffee, bacon and sausage rolls, word also leaked out on the UKGSer forum and apparently we had a number riders come here to visit after doing a ride out to Cambridge from SBW. To be honest it was too successful as we really did not get the chance to talk to many of the bikers that turned up, we ran out of cups, bacon and bread rolls. We even had riders who had just stopped at Wally’s Café come and see us because so many bikes were going past the café to come to our open day. Next time we do something like this I will try and keep it a bit smaller as this was overpowering, either that or I need to find some part time weekend staff who really know about bikes the products and adventure travel to help us out.
